The role

The role

CPI has an exciting opportunity for a Project Finance Officer to join its established and growing finance team to play a key role in supporting the financial delivery of private and grant-funded projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of financial administration and reporting, particularly in the context of UK and EU grant funding.

  • Administering financial requirements of grant offer letters and private contracts.

  • Analysing costs and timesheets for eligibility and budget compliance.

  • Producing and submitting grant claims in line with UK and EU regulations.

  • Maintaining project cash flow plans and forecasting.

  • Supporting audit preparation and providing financial reporting to Project Managers.

  • Coordinating with other grant participants when CPI is Lead Partner.

  • Maintaining and developing project accounting systems and schedules.

  • Collaborating with other departments to identify R&D qualifying expenditure.

The person

The person

The successful candidate must be educated to Level 3 (or equivalent) in a business-related discipline, or have relevant, practical experience with grant-funded projects and have;

  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

  • A proven track record working with grant funding and completing month-end processes accurately.

  • Knowledge of public sector performance requirements and EU procurement rules.

  • Experience/knowledge of ERDF or Horizon 2020 grant claim production.

It would be advantageous if the successful candidate was also educated to HND level (or equivalent) in a business related discipline, had AAT or an equivalent accountancy qualification and had;

  • Experience administering a portfolio of UK and EU grant projects.

  • Familiarity with project accounting software.
